What they get in AT Jumpers is instruction and
performance opportunities in synchronized rope jumping. They develop
their movement vocabulary – the one common language spoken all
over the world.
Music, beats, rhythm, interpersonal relationships, and teamwork –
all are integral parts of the AT Jumpers formula for success.
The children combine discrete jump rope skills
into choreographed routines of their own creation, combining music
and movement into a single coherent presentation. This form of
exercise is known to improve all areas of physical fitness, as well
as critical thinking and problem solving.
Students must cooperate and work together to create, develop and
display their talents.
The fruits of their hard work have taken them
far:
· Performances at local schools, community fairs, parades and
public gatherings
· Local and regional competitions in Virginia, Maryland, and
North Carolina
· National and international competitions in Florida, Virginia,
and Tennessee
· A performance on the South Lawn of the White House in June
2002 at the roll-out of the President’s National Fitness
Initiative
Their work has paid off handsomely – numerous top ten finishes at every competition level and in every age group as well as gold, silver, and bronze medals for individuals and double dutch teams at the national competitions.
